Our lives have speed-ed up.

Thing is, why do people feel the need to hurry even when there’s no need? That’s “The Permanent Hurry Syndrome” says food and beverage expert, Art Siemering.

Time-stacking is part of the lifestyle of today’s mobile populace. I have been guilty of this lately. Suffering with constant indigestion as a result. Food is meant to be savored and enjoyed. Don’t you just long for those days when you have the luxury to sit down and really enjoy every morsel of food that touches your lips while having long and relaxing conversations with your friends? Some weekends we can still afford to this but a lot of times you just have time to gobble the food right in front of you. Sad and bad for your digestive system…

Food for Thought

“It’s amazing how pervasive food is. Every second commercial is for food. Every second TV episode takes place around a meal. In the city, you can’t go ten feet without seeing or smelling a restaurant. There are 20 foot high hamburgers up on billboards. I am acutely aware of food, and its omnipresence is astounding. “

                        - Adam Scott, The Monkey Chow Diaries, June 2006

“There is no love sincerer than the love of food.”

                        - George Bernard Shaw

“I don’t even butter my bread. I consider that cooking.”

                               - Katherine Cerian

Some of my favorite quotes on food, care to share yours?

This is called Sizzling Bulalo Soup… A hearty beef shank soup with green beans, napa cabbage, potatoes, and sliced carrots.  Imagine —-tender, melt-in-your-mouth beef pieces with crisp, crunchy vegetables. Served piping hot.
As the warm broth touches your mouth, you get a tingling sensation that slowly warms the heart then your body. Perfect for cold winter days and nights. It’s a favorite Filipino comfort food.
